IEEE-1394

FireWire LogoIn 1995, Texas Instruments pioneered the introduction of 1394 in the consumer electronics market with the first 1394 silicon in a digital camcorder. Since then, TI has continued its 1394 leadership by developing specific, affordable parts for digital A/V consumer products, including HDTVs, set-top boxes, A/V receivers and DVD audio.

Beyond individual A/V applications, TI is addressing Home Networking solutions using 1394. These solutions will not only be simpler to use, but will reduce system costs, and protect digital content. TI continues its 1394 leadership in other areas, too. These areas include: PC applications, consumer electronics, industrial automation and controls.

TI's 1394 solutions provide these advantages:

A complete product line of 1394a and 1394b solutions

  • S100, S200, S400 and S800** speeds
  • Support for CAT5 for up to 100 meters**
  • Bilingual communications for 1394b devices to connect to 1394a devices
  • Discreet PHYs, Links and integrated products

The industry's most extensive library of 1394 technical resources featuring: detailed data sheets; application reports; designer kits and a growing network of third-party solution providers.

Technical leadership, including strategic involvement with the 1394 Trade Association, HANA, and other industry standards bodies
