Eureka Digital Audio Broadcast (DAB) - Overview
TI delivers the most highly integrated Eureka Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) baseband, the new TMS320DRE310 DSP-based baseband, as well as the TMS320DRE200 DSP baseband the first open, software-driven Eureka DAB digital radio receiver solution. These solutions provide the most cost-effective and power-efficient products to the industry today.
The TI Eureka DAB solutions for OEMs include:
- TI DSP based digital baseband parts
- TI analog parts
- TI evaluation board
- Reference design & modules
- Third party modules
DRE310 Eureka DAB solution benefits:
- Industry's lowest system cost
- Low-cost baseband and analog parts especially for radios that include MP3/WMA CD
- Most integrated DAB baseband which reduces cost and design time for adding different features
- First baseband to include on-chip support for features such as:
- Record and playback from Flash Memory and MultiMedia Card(MMC)
- Time-shift recording
- The capapbility for simultaneously listening to and recording different channels
- Capable of MP3 and WMA decoder support on the same chip
- Well suited for the automotive market with features such as FM/ensemble withching, TII, TPEG and announcement support
- Addresses the data bit rates needed for Digital Multimedia Broadcast designs
- Accepts a wider range of audio and data bit rates than previous TI baseband solutions
- Increased audio rate of up to 384 kbps allows the system to receive the full range of digital audio signals and the supported data rates can process Digital Multimedia Broadcast (DMB) applications.
- Worldwide field and factory support
-
Simplifies the task of digital radio design using the DRE310 DSP-based baseband
-
Evaluation modules (EVMs) and reference design materials
-
Third party module based on the DRE310 are expected to be available
