Eureka-147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB)

Eureka-147 Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) offers listeners more stations with higher fidelity sound while transforming radio into an information delivery system with content on-demand for traffic, weather, sports and more. Eureka DAB broadcasts in several countries including the United Kingdom, Germany and Canada. It also is found in Asia in such places as Singapore and Taiwan.

TI, with software from RadioScape, Ltd., provides a complete digital radio solution with its TMS320DRE200 or TMS320DRE310 DSP-based digital baseband. These basebands deliver maximum flexibility along with low-cost and low-power requirements.

HD Radio™ technology

HD Radio™ technology is the FCC-selected standard for digital audio broadcasting in the United States. With the help of Texas Instruments' technology, HD Radio enables several exciting developments, such as the NPR's Tomorrow Radio project that allows broadcasters to transmit a second station on their given frequency, doubling the bandwidth of the FM band. Other innovative features include "rewind radio" and surround-sound transmission. TI's software radio approach easily allows manufacturers to add new features.

TI partnered it's expertise in DSP technology with software by iBiquity Digital Corporation, the sole developer and licenser of HD Radio technology, to develop the TMS320DRI300 and TMS320DRI350 basebands. These low-cost HD Radio basebands allow digital radio manufacturers to launch innovative and differentiated products for mobile entertainment.

Digital Radio Mondiale™ (DRM™)

Digital Radio Mondiale™ (DRM™) is the only universal, non-proprietary digital AM radio system for short-wave, medium-wave and long-wave broadcast with near-FM quality sound available today... DRM complements DAB to provide digital reception anywhere in the world. Now broadcasters can launch exciting new services that allow listeners to hear their favorite short-wave, medium-wave/AM or long-wave programs with considerably improved quality. Combining DAB and DRM into new receivers will extend the range of digital stations and services available, a single tower can broadcast over a huge geographic area. More than 65 leading broadcasters have begun transmitting live, daily or weekly DRM broadcasts and special programs.
