DESCRIPTION / ORDERING INFORMATION
The UCD9111 is a single-phase synchronous buck digital PWM controller designed for point of load (POL) power applications. This device integrates non-volatile memory and dedicated circuitry for DC/DC loop management with a PMBus™ interface to support configurability, monitoring, and management of a point of load. The UCD9111 is capable of operating at switching frequencies of up to 1 MHz.
The UCD9111 evaluation module comes with the Fusion Digital Power Designer Graphical User Interface (GUI). This GUI helps the designer to configure the operating parameters and loop response of the power supply controller which is stored to the UCD9111's on-chip non-volatile memory. This enables a synchronous buck hardware design to be dynamically calibrated and reconfigured to optimize a single hardware design for a variety of applications. This is the same development environment used for TI's two-phase version of the UCD911x part (that is, UCD9112).
The UCD7230 synchronous buck driver is designed to work with the UCD9111 controller to provide a highly-integrated digital power solution. In addition to 4 A output drive capability, the driver integrates current limit, short circuit protection, plus under-voltage lockout protection. The UCD7230 also has a 3.3 V, 10 mA linear regulator that provides the controller supply current.
