Temperature Sensor/Controller

A Temperature Sensor/Controller is used for sensing and controlling the temperature through heating or cooling elements in a system. The information for the heating and cooling elements are transmitted over the Modbus using  either RS-485 or RS-232 as it's physical layer.

The core subsystems include:

  • Processor/Memory
    - runs the applications stored in memory. The OS can be stored in internal FLASH.
  • Power Conversion
    - converts 24V power supplied by power-bus, providing isolated 3.3V for the system with regulation.
  • Connectivity
    - allows the Temperature Sensor/Controller to communicate with heating and cooling elements within the system over Modbus. Modbus protocol runs over the Processor, and physical layer can be either RS-485 or RS-232.
