Block Diagram

Ethernet Transceiver 1394 AFE Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) should at least be 70 dB for good robust imaging system. Analog System Power Wide Dynamic Range sensors allow for lighting conditions that do not have a precisely-controlled environment. CameraLinkTM Clock Driver Core Processor Power DDR Power Digital System Power Hi-speed interfaces such as USB, Ethernet and 1394 require ultra-low input capacitance for the ESD protection device so as not to degrade the signalling. IEEE 802.3af limits the amount of power that can be delivered by the Power Sourcing Equipment to the Powered Device. Most applications require <7W for the processor and analog circuitry. Lens Drive Video DAC Video amps are essential if analog signals are transmitted to ensure long cable lengths do not distort the original signal.

Design Considerations

Machine vision (MV) refers to both industrial and non-industrial applications where operational guidance is provided to equipment for the execution of functions based on the capture and processing of images. Basically, this is providing "sight" or "vision" to otherwise "blind" equipment. This greatly enhances the capabilities of the equipment, resulting in improved product quality, increased productivity and decreased costs. TI's comprehensive solutions cover the entire video chain - everything from the initial capture of video content to the final viewing experience.
