Low-cost evaluation module with newest floating-point TMS320C6727 DSP

Solution Description

The C6727 EVM consists of a hardware platform with SDRAM, flash, audio codecs and peripheral connectors that allow for extending the board to application specific hardware. Three pairs of external connectors enable routing of peripherals: one for serial peripherals like McASP, one for the UHPI interface, and one for the external memory interface "EMIF". An onboard JTAG connector provides emulation support.

The C6727 EVM includes software examples that illustrate how to use the codec, as well as how to boot from flash. The flash can be burned using the standard, free flashburn utility.

The EVM also includes an USB-extension module called USB-HPI-Programmer. This small module is plugged onto the UHPI-connector of the EVM and allows the software on the PC-side to download programs to RAM, program the flash and exchange data with the DSP via USB.

Special versions or high volumes can be produced on customer request.
