Product InformationDescriptionThe CC2420MSP430ZDK is designed to deliver the most powerful elements for ZigBee® development in the market today. This two-chip solution is based on the well known CC2420 transceiver and the ultra low power MSP430FG4618 MCU. The unique combination of the C2420 and the MSP430 makes it possible to implement true low-power applications that can last on batteries for years. The hardware included in the kit contains necessary support to evaluate, demonstrate, prototype and develop software targeting various ZigBee applications. The MSP430 Experimenters board provides the user with functionality such as LCD, capacitive touch-pad, push buttons, buzzer, prototyping space, RS232 communication interface, JTAG Programming Interfaces etc. The CC2420MSP430ZDK is supported by IAR Embedded Workbench for MSP430, which is used with the TIMAC, the Z-stack and application examples. 30 day evaluation licenses for both the IAR C/C++ Compiler and C-SPY Debugger can be downloaded from www.iar.com. By contacting one of the IAR sales offices a 60-day extension of the license will be given to TI's ZigBee customers. Compatibility IssuesTools & software: In order to use the Chipcon Packet sniffer software, a packet sniffer compliant hardware module is needed. The simplest solution is to purchase a CC2430 Demonstration Board. The Chipcon Packet Sniffer software can be downloaded for free from the CC2430DB product page.
