Description

This 110 Watt Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS) provides +32 Volts at 3.3 Amps for audio power amplifiers, along with three other voltages for system functions and an onboard battery charging circuit.

This SMPS supplies a small, low cost solution for applications such as wireless speakers, Personal Computer peripheral speakers, and micro component systems.

This power supply is designed to operate from a power line voltage of 90 vac to 170 vac or 170 vac to 264 vac through the use of a jumper or switch for a lower cost design. It is compatible with power line frequencies of 50 Hz to 60 Hz.

In addition to providing +32 Volts at 3.3 Amps, it also has outputs for +6.0 Volts at 400 mA, 3.3 Volts at 300 mA and 12 Volts at 50 mA. The 32 Volt supply is designed to support 8.6 Amp surge current to accommodate the crest factors encountered in audio reproduction. The noise and ripple are consistent with the requirements for audio amplifier systems.

This power supply also has a battery charging circuit compatible with 32 Volt (24 cell) battery.

Because of its being a switch mode power supply, it is light weight and generates less heat than a similar solution designed with a linear power supply topology.
