The DM355S AUDIO Codec Bundle must be used when TMS320CDM355 devices are used. This Ittiam production code is also available for free. Pleas contact Ittiam directly for support questions.

The JPEG decoder software is a proven module. The ready-to-implement JPEG algorithms reduce time-to-market because they can be treated as a tested module and integrated into a software system. TI’s JPEG module conforms to the JPEG standards approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Telecommunications Union (ITU). The DaVinci™ JPEG decoder features an optimized real-time compression algorithm for storing visual images according to the requirements of the JPEG standard.

The JPEG decoder is xDM compliant for still image and motion video applications. It can be tuned for optimal performance in applications like security or video conferencing via flexible dynamic quantization level control. It is available in system tested codec combinations with a codec engine, DSP/BIOS, DSPLink and Framework components. This combination includes JPEG decode in codec example applications and other example combinations are planned for the future.

  • Baseline sequential mode with both interleaved and non-interleaved input format
  • YUV 444, YUV 422, YUV 420, YUV 411, and gray scale
  • Supports a maximum of three components
  • Supports a maximum of three quantization tables
  • Up to four Huffman tables each for AC and DC DCT coefficients
  • Arbitrary image size for sequential JPEG
  • 8-bit and 16-bit quantization tables
  • Resizing of output image by a factor of 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8
  • Supports YUV planar or YUV 422 interleaved output format
  • Frame level decoding of images for sequential mode
  • All data buffers and tables placed in external memory
  • Does not support source images of 12-bits per sample
  • JPEG File Interchange Format (JFIF) header is skipped
  • Restart management for bit stream with Define Restart Interval Marker (DRI) and Restart Marker (RST) are enabled
