Product Information

Description

The TI MP3 audio decoder is an xDM compliant codec engine. It is available in system tested codec combinations with codec engine, DSP/BIOS, DSPLink and Framework components. The combination includes MPEG-2 decoder in audio/video example applications and other combination examples are planned for the future.

 

NOTE: The DM355S AUDIO Codec Bundle must be used when TMS320CDM355 devices are used. This Ittiam production code is also available for free. Please contact Ittiam directly for support questions.

Features

  • Supports ISO/IEC 11172-3 Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 compliant streams
  • Variable Bit Rate (VBR) and Constant Bit Rate (CBR)
  • Bit rates of 32 to 448 kbps for Layer 1
    • 32 to 384 kbps for Layer 2
    • 8 to 320 kbps for Layer3
  • Mono and stereo MP3 media including all stereo modes
  • Outputs 16-bit raw Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) samples
  • Output in interleaved or block format for 2-channel
  • Layer 1 and Layer 2 decoder compliant only with ISO/IEC 11172-3 (MPEG-1 audio) standard
  • Layer 3 decoder is compliant with the following standards:
    • ISO/IEC 11172-3 (MPEG-1) (48 KHz, 44.1 KHz, 32 KHz)
    • ISO/IEC 13818-3 (MPEG-2) (24 KHz, 22.05 KHz, 16 KHz)
    • MPEG 2.5 extension (12 KHz, 11.025 KHz, 8 KHz)
  • Does not support free format streams
