Texas Instruments’ MPEG-2 encoder software is a proven module that allows for digital video
encoding. The ready-to-implement MPEG-2 encoder reduces time-to-market because it can be easily integrated into a design without writing or debugging software. It conforms to the MPEG-2 standards approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
The MPEG-2 Main Profile (MP) D1 encoder is xDM compliant for video encoding applications. It is available in system tested codec combinations with a codec engine, DSP/BIOS, DSPLink and Framework components. The MPEG-2 combination includes MP3
encode in audio/video example applications and other example combinations are planned for the future.

Customized technical support from Authorized Software Providers – To ensure qualified support, TI has established a worldwide network of Authorized Software Providers (ASPs). They support TI-enabled IP and provide customized software and engineering services for digital media applications.
For production codecs (BASIC or AUDIO Bundles), users will be notified of updates when they are available. Downloads will be delivered via myRegistered Software (TI’s software management portal).
For evaluation codecs, the most current version available is delivered at the time of the Evaluation request.
