Texas Instruments’ MPEG-4/H.263 encoder software is a proven module that allows for high performance real-time video encoding. The ready-to-implement MPEG-4/H.263 codec reduces time-to-market because it can be easily integrated into a design without writing or debugging software. It conforms to the MPEG-4 standards approved by the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), as well as the H.263 standard from the ITU.

The MPEG-4/H.263 encoder can be tuned for optimal performance in security or videoconferencing applications via flexible rate control. It is available in system tested codec combinations with a codec engine, DSP/BIOS, DSPLink and Framework components. The MPEG-4 is available in codec combinations including MPEG-4 SP decode in encode/decode example applications.
