Product Information
DescriptionWindows® CE (TMDWIN-CE) is a Microsoft Windows operating system optimized for
embedded devices that require minimum storage. Windows CE is a noticeably different kernel that can run in under a megabyte of memory. It conforms to the definition of a real-time operating system, with a deterministic interrupt latency. Windows CE supports 256 priority levels and uses priority inheritance for dealing with priority inversion. The fundamental unit of execution is the thread. This helps to simplify the interface and improve execution time.
TI’s Windows CE for DaVinci™ SoC processors offering is the perfect tool for developers requiring the Windows CE operating system for installed code base, Microsoft features and/or Windows PC interoperability. It allows embedded digital video developers to begin development immediately utilizing a familiar, full-featured environment for embedded design. Developers can easily achieve video and audio performance beyond GPP capabilities while using familiar and standard Windows CE application programming interfaces (APIs).
