DescriptionTI’s WMV9 decoder implements the simple and main modes of the proposed VC-1 codec standard, providing high-quality video for streaming and downloading for TI DaVinci-based devices. It provides support for a wide range of bit rates, from content at one-half to one-third the bit rate of MPEG-2, to low-bit-rate Internet video delivered over a dialup modem.
The TI WMV9 video decoder is an xDM compliant codec engine that allows for WMV9 MP D1, WMV9 AP D1 and VC-1 D1 decoding. It is available in system tested codec combinations with codec engine, DSP/BIOS, DSPLink and Framework components.
Features
- Supports the advanced profile features of the SMPTE FCD1r6 at level 1 (AP@L1) standard
- Supports elementary input streams
- Supports YUV 420 and YUV 422 interleaved output formats
- Considers Advanced Systems Format (ASF) parser as an application layer (not included in decoder)
- Main profile is bit exact with the reference decoder provided by Microsoft®
- Advanced profile (VC-1) is bit exact with the SMPTE test case
