Description

The TRF3710EVM is the evaluation module for the TRF3710 device. The TRF3710 is a direct conversion quadrature demodulator. The primary use for the TRF3710 is that of a single-carrier 3G wireless receiver for WCDMA or CDMA2000 but the device is suitable for other RF receiver applications within the 1.7 GHz - 2.0 GHz frequency bands.

Features

The TRF3710 Evaluation Board is used to test the performance of the TRF3710 direct quadrature demodulator. The input signal is injected into the RFin connector (J4) and after it is transformed in a differential signal by a balun it is fed into the TRF3710 input ports (MIXinp and MIXinn pins). The local oscillator source is connected to the LO port (J16) and through a similar balun as for the rf path, it is differentially injected into the TRF3710 LO pins (LOinp, LOinn). The input signal after being down-converted and filtered by the TRF3710 can be tested at the baseband output ports both single-ended or differentially. There is also the option to test the down-converter mixers by taking their outputs at Mix_I_out and Mix_Q_out ports (J17, J19). The TRF3710 integrates two baseband output buffers, designed to drive typical ADC input loads (like TI ADS527x and ADS523x analog-to-digital converters families). The TRF3710 output buffers common mode can be adjusted via the VCMI and VCMQ pins. The typical value is 1.5 V.
