Description

The TVP5146EVM evaluation module is used to demonstrate the TVP5146. The TVP5146 is a high performance NTSC/PAL/SECAM 10-bit video decoder. It converts analog baseband video into digital component data. With an adaptive 5-line comb filter for high quality Y/C separation, a New Robust Sync Detector for improved performance with VCR trick modes (ffw, rew, pause and play), weak or noisy signals and nonstandard input signals, the TVP5146 is the ideal video decoder for all medium to high end video applications.

The TVP5146 supports various combinations of CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr/RGB component, or SCART inputs. The digital output data is provided as either ITU-R BT.601 with discrete HSYNC and VSYNC or ITU-R BT.656 with embedded syncs. The TVP5146 also provides Macrovision detection and a flexible VBI data processor to support all of today's VBI data formats.

The TVP5146EVM was designed for ease of use to minimize set up time while providing a complete evaluation system for the TVP5146 video decoder.

The TVP5146EVM includes the TVP5146 NTSC/PAL/SECAM Video Decoder Board Module, an Encoder Board Module, a universal 5V power supply and a parallel port cable.

It also includes a Windows™ 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP compatible application called WinVCC4 (Windows Video Control Center). WinVCC4 communicates with the TVP5146EVM via I2C through a PC parallel port connection and provides the means for manipulating system register settings.

This software is provided with the TVP5146EVM. The latest version of WinVCC4 is also available for download below.

TVP5146EVM SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD:

The TVP5146EVM installation program is available for download below. The zip file comes complete with the parallel port driver, WinVCC4, the TVP5146 data manual, the TVP5146EVM User's Guide and the TVP5146EVM Quick Start Guide.

To install:

1. Run SETUP.EXE (This must be executed at the PC that will be used to control the EVM)
2. Click Next at all prompts and finally click Finish to complete the installation process.
