Product Information
DescriptionNOTE: The TMDSEMU560U-0E (Euro) has been discontinued; the TMDSEMU560U now has all three power cords in the kit and ships to all regions.
XDS560 JTAG scan-based emulator is a 3rd generation emulation controller supporting high-speed RTDX on enabled processors for real-time data rates of over 2 MB/second. It provides an unparalleled level of real-time visibility into an executing application and is extremely well-suited for debugging the demanding requirements of video and other high-speed DSP applications. The XDS560 can achieve code download speeds over 500 Kbytes per second improving start-up times for larger applications and thus speeding development. The XDS560 also enables real-time non-intrusive Advanced Event Triggering capabilities, including event sequence detection, extended benchmarking capabilities, and program range breakpoints. The XDS560 is compatible with existing XDS510-class emulators, and uses the new, compact TI 20-pin (cTI) JTAG header connector (adapters are included for backwards compatibility to the 14-pin header format and standard ARM 20-pin multICE headers).
FeaturesThe XDS560 emulator combines state-of-the-art silicon, hardware, and software technology to provide high-speed RTDX and other advanced emulation capabilities. Using the XDS560 emulator, DSP application developers now have:
- High-speed RTDX that can speed time-to-market through unique real-time visibility, with data rates of over 2 MB/second with enabled processors-up to 100 times faster than other emulators. Code download speeds over 500 Kbytes per second for better start-up times for larger applications. Real-time, non-intrusive Advanced Event Triggering capabilities including event sequence detection, extended benchmarking capabilities, and program range breakpoints to help find and fix intermittent real-time problems.
- Full compatibility with the existing XDS510 JTAG emulator to preserve software and board investments.
- The XDS560 JTAG emulator also allows developers to build real-time DSP applications conveniently with an advanced host-target connection available with popular host interfaces such as PCI bus and USB. Additionally, with support for voltages ranging from 0.5 to 5V, the XDS560 offers excellent support for TI's low-voltage device roadmap.
- The USB emulator product (TMDSEMU560U) is supplied with the appropriate power supply, USB cable, 12 inch cTI JTAG cable with embedded XDS560 Revision D cable electronics. The PCI emulator product (TMDSEMU560PCI) is supplied with the 5 foot (1.5m) XDS560 Revision D cable with 20-pin cTI header. Both models include pin adapters for 14-pin, 20-pin multICE headers and 60-pin XDS560 Trace.
- The XDS560 also supports the full range of standard emulation and debugging capabilities, including both software and real-time hardware breakpoints and tracepoints, single-step execution, loading/inspecting/modification of all registers and memory, software breakpoint/trace on all program and data addresses, benchmarking of execution time of clock cycles, and heterogeneous multiprocessor debugging with global running, stepping and breakpoints. All of these capabilities are fully integrated with the Code Composer Studio debugger interface.
Extended Features
- In addition, the Blackhawk XDS560 JTAG emulators can support Boundary-Scan Definition Language (BSDL). BSDL is the standard modeling language for boundary-scan devices. Its syntax is a subset of VHDL and it complies with IEEE 1149.1-2001. Corelis, a leader in boundary scan tools , has provided support for Blackhawk XDS560-class JTAG emulators into its ScanExpress Programmer which extends the usefulness of Blackhawk JTAG emulators beyond debug for interconnect testing and JTAG in-system programming.
