Moore’s Law repealed! But does it matter?
Looking at the real cost, performance and time-to-market requirements designers face, the repeal of Moore's Law, which appears to be in progress, may not even matter anymore, according to Gene Frantz, TI futurist and creator of “Gene’s Law”, a power-related corollary of Moore’s. Do designers really care about process nodes? See Gene’s response to this answer in his recent blog on the topic.
I found Twitter, or Twitter found me…now what?
Gene Frantz, TI Futurist, gives his opinion on Twitter and how he plans to use it to engage with fellow designers and innovators.
My trip to China and what I learned at the Universities: DSP Theory or DSP Design?
After a recent visit to China, Gene asks the question, “Is it better to understand the theory of DSP or to know how to design with a DSP’or?” He discusses the difference in the teaching of digital signal processing in China universities versus US universities and gives his opinion on which he thinks is the better teaching method.
