New antenna diversity reference design for PurePath™ Wireless audio

The CC85XX-CC2590 antenna diversity reference design enables a CC85XX slave device to quickly switch between two antennas on a per-timeslot basis. This feature increases link robustness when the RF environment changes. CC85xx PurePath Wireless audio devices with firmware version FW1.3.0 and higher include support for antenna diversity.

SmartRF™ Studio 7 version 1.7.1

SmartRF Studio is a Windows application that can be used to evaluate and configure RF-ICs from TI. The new 1.7.1 version includes the following updates:

  • Added support for CC2541
  • CC1120: Several updates of the register description in Register View.
  • The Register export feature updated. The templates stored as XML files.
  • The interface used to support CC430 updated. Now using version 3.2.3.2 of the msp430.dll
  • Several bug fixes. See Revision history for details.

Production Management Using Bluetooth-Based Real Time Location System

In an article in RFID Journal, the Finnish precast-concrete manufacturer Lipa Betoni says 9Solutions’ Indoor Positioning and Communication Solution (IPCS) is helping it to become more efficient. The latest version of 9Solutions’ IPCS system is Bluetooth low energy based, using TI’s CC2540 SoC.

A wearable medical device with smartphone app beat more than 300 entries for the top prize in the 2011 Bluetooth Innovation World Cup. The nine IWC finalists ranged from a Bluetooth® enabled wrist bracelet for infants to self-weighing luggage. TI is the Title Sponsor of this third annual contest held by the Bluetooth SIG, designed to reward innovative new product ideas that use Bluetooth v4.0 low energy technology.
