TI Awarded ZigBee™ Golden Unit Status for Z-Stack
Platform
The
ZigBee Alliance recently awarded TI’s Z-Stack
platform Golden Unit status. Golden Unit status is given
to platforms that have implemented the ZigBee 2006 specification
and have passed independent testing by one of two ZigBee-qualified
testing labs. With the ZigBee 2006-compliant Z-stack,
developers can take advantage of new features such as
the home automation cluster library and group addressing
(multicast) as well as improved security. Click below

New: TI IEEE 802.15.4
Medium Access Control Software Stack
TI
has released its new IEEE 802.15.4 medium access control
(MAC) software stack. The TIMAC supports the CC2430
platform as well as the CC2420 platforms with external
MCU. (For more information about available platforms
please visit www.ti.com/zigbee.)
The TIMAC not only supports the IEEE 802.15.4-2003 but
also provides support for new features included in the
2006 release of this IEEE standard. The TIMAC will be
available free of charge online from TI in object code.
In addition to replacing the former Chipcon MAC, the
new TIMAC is designed to ease application development
and porting to various MCUs. The TIMAC is also available
in source code at a cost of $10,000 (U.S.). Further
development of the Chipcon MAC has been discontinued,
but TI will continue to support it.

CC25xxEM Folded Dipole Reference Design
A
new PCB antenna reference design applicable for CC2500,
CC2510, CC2511 and CC2550 is now available online. Design
Note 4, DN004, is included in the reference design and
describes the properties of the folded dipole antenna
and how to implement it.

CC2420 Data Sheet
An
updated revision of the CC2420 data sheet is now available
online. The document has been updated with TI-specific
ordering information and updates reflecting the programmable
polarity of FIFO, FIFOP, SFD and CCA pins. In addition,
reset values for several registers have been added or
updated. The revision history information in the document
provides a full overview of the changes.

MSP430
Ultra-Low-Power MCU Interface to CC1100/2500 Code Library
Any
device within the MSP430 ultra-low-power MCU platform
can be used with this library, made possible by hardware
abstraction. Similarly, any SPI-capable interface module
within the MSP430 device platform is supported by the
library. This provides you with maximum flexibility
in choosing the optimum MSP430 device for a given application.
This document provides descriptive information and instructions
for using the library for either demonstration purposes
or implementation in a project.
