New Stellaris® development kits for Wireless Networking Applications |
Merging the performance and ease-of-use of Stellaris® ARM® Cortex™-M3-based microcontrollers (MCU) with leading wireless connectivity solutions, TI has launched three new wireless kits. The kits serve as modular extensions to TI’s Stellaris DK-LM3S9B96 development kit to give engineers complete software and reference design solutions for adding RFID, low-power RF and ZigBee® capabilities to designs. With this offering, TI is building on its broad portfolio of 16-bit, ultra-low-power MSP430™-based wireless connectivity solutions, now providing 32-bit Stellaris MCU performance for execution of additional advanced connectivity and control functions in metering, home automation, and security. For more information, go to www.ti.com/stellariswireless. |

DN006 CC11xx Settings for FCC 15.247 Solutions |
The design note shows how CC11xx can be configured for maximum output power (+11 dBm) and how it meets FCC Section 15.247 requirements without the need for frequency hopping. Significant update to the design note: measurements performed on CC1101, changes to frequency deviation to meet 6 dB BW requirements, updated PSD and output power measurement results, and sensitivity figures significantly improved. |

DN032 Options for Cost Optimized CC11xx Matching |
The design note gives measurement results of maximum output power, harmonics emission, and TX current consumption using wire wound inductors from 6 different vendors. The results show that the TX performance is not significantly degraded when using other inductors than the Murata LQW15A series, which is used on the CC1101EM 868-915 MHz reference design. |

A newly certified In-Home Display for ZigBee® Smart Energy by LS Industrial Systems |
|
LSMKE-D1, designed by LS Industrial Systems, is a multi-purpose IHD(In-Home Display) that displays energy consumption data in numeric and graph-view, group-average consumption for comparison, and CO2 emission to encourage energy saving. It also predicts monthly bills based on consumption patterns. Other capabilities include price table display, local weather update, energy saving tips, MP3 player, and digital photo album. It is a clear-type, touch screen, 7” display that can be stand-alone or wall-mounted. LSMKE-D1 uses Texas Instruments’ CC2530 system-on-chip ZigBee solution with CC2591, a 2.4 GHz RF Front End for low-power wireless applications. |
