Add Wi-Fi® to your MSP-EXP430FR5739 Experimenter Board

SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi CC3000 is a self-contained wireless solution that simplifies the process of implementing Internet connectivity. SimpleLink Wi-Fi minimizes host microcontroller (MCU) software requirements making it the ideal solution for embedded applications using any low-cost/low-power MCU. The SimpleLink CC3000 Wi-Fi solution is provided as a module to reduce development time, lower manufacturing costs, save board space, ease certification, and minimize RF expertise required. The new Evaluation Module boards have standard RF1 & RF2 headers that connect to many TI platforms including some kits for MSP430™ MCUs, Stellaris® MCUs and C5000™ DSPs.

CC112x/CC1175 operation in 274-320 MHz frequency band – Application note AN115

This application note outlines the expected performance when using the CC112x/CC1175 in the 274-320 MHz frequency band. The CC1120EM 274-320 MHz reference design is based on the CC1120EM 420-470 MHz reference design with changes to component values in the TX and RX path only. The application note shows that CC1120 can be used in applications targeting compliance with FCC section 15.231.

TI launches next-gen Bluetooth low energy application software for Bluetooth Smart and Smart Ready devices
Our latest Bluetooth® low energy (Bluetooth v4.0) application software, BLE-Stack 1.2, further drives the development of Bluetooth Smart and Smart Ready devices. With an advanced master-slave topology switch feature, increased stack configurability, and eight percent power optimization in software, the features enable the design of low-power, single-chip-based products with both Bluetooth Smart and Smart Ready capabilities in one. Additionally, TI’s latest BLE-Stack includes support for fourteen profiles with associated sample applications for development of Bluetooth low energy-compliant sensor devices to take advantage of the growing number of Bluetooth v4.0 enabled smart phones and tablets on the market. TI’s BLE-Stack is available royalty-free to all using TI’s CC254x Bluetooth low energy system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.
