94fifty sensor basketball improves your game with TI tech
InfoMotion Sports Technologies recently announced the 94fifty basketball, the first sensor basketball for the consumer market. The ball uses an advanced sensor suite to break down all aspects of a user's game, from ball-handling and shooting to athleticism, and then transmits this information via Bluetooth to the user's smartphone or tablet. The basketball uses several TI products including the CC2564 Bluetooth/Bluetooth low energy dual-mode QFN solution, Qi-compliant wireless charging technology and C5000 ultra-low power DSP for the complex analytics. The ball is part of a Kickstarter campaign through April 8.

Check out the ball in action and see how you can improve your game.
TI supports Thingsquare Mist to deliver low power RF connectivity to the Internet of Things
To further support the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), TI announced support of the Thingsquare Mist IoT open source firmware for select TI hardware platforms for connected home automation products, connected lighting, and smart city projects. For maximum scalability, manufacturers can select from several TI IP/6LoWPAN solutions including the sub-1 GHz CC1101 or CC1120 radio frequency (RF) transceiver combined with an ultra-low power MSP430™ microcontroller (MCU) or the CC2538 system-on-chip (SoC) with integrated ARM® Cortex™ M3, RF transceiver and memory.
