The Puma 3 family is comprised of high-performance cable modem chips and chipsets targeted at data-centric applications and integrated with significant functionality to substantially reduce the bill of materials (BOM) costs.
The members of the Puma 3 family are all fully compliant with CableLabs’® DOCSIS® 2.0 standards and feature integrated DOCSIS PHY/MAC functionality. In addition, the Puma 3 family offers a range of peripheral interfaces on-chip for added functionality including 10/100 Ethernet and USB. Puma 3 devices also have the flexibility to incorporate a simple interface that can connect to a wireless local area networking (WLAN) device, digital signal processor (DSP) or other types of chips for a variety of functionality.
TI’s Puma 3 family of DOCSIS 2.0 data modem solutions include:
- TNETC4600/TNETC4602 – High-performance DOCSIS 2.0 data modem chips with the processing power for a variety of gateway applications. High-level integration reduces bill of materials (BOM) costs.
- TNETC430/TNETC436 – Reference design platforms incorporating the TNETC4600/4602 integrated cable modem devices, the TNETC430/436 accelerate time-to-market and reduce development risks.
