For system-level WLAN designs targeted at true multimode operation, the TNETW1130 media access controller/baseband processor delivers a complete and converged single-chip solution. It supports full 54 megabits per second (Mbps) data-transfer speeds and all 802.11a/b/g WLAN standards.
OEM and ODM design teams can choose the TNETW130 with complete confidence in standards compliance. The TNETW1130 is a key part of the Wi-Fi Alliance’s 802.11g testing program.
- The TNETW1130 is used to certify interoperability of Wi-Fi® products meeting the IEEE 802.11g standard
- All products submitted for 802.11g Wi-Fi certification will be tested against TNETW1130-based reference designs.
- The same reference designs will be used in the certification program that ensures interoperability in 802.11b and 802.11g mixed-mode networks.
Low Power – High Performance
TNETW1130 has also been optimized for low power consumption, particularly by employing techniques TI has pioneered in 802.11 standby power modes. For dual-band 2.4-GHz and 4.9 to 5.9-GHz operations supporting 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11a, the TNETW1130 u tilizes a high performance single-chip radio frequency (RF) solution that includes an external power amplifier to achieve lower costs.
Key Features
- True dual-band 54 Mbps data in the 2.4-GHz and 5.2-GHz U-NII bands
- Hardware-accelerated Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for mandatory (AES-CCMP)
- Wi-Fi Compliant 802.11g operation
- Compatible with all versions and additions to the 802.11 standard including draft standards
- Field-programmable architecture to supports standard changes
- Seamless interoperability and automatic fallback operation in the 2.4-GHz band between the higher-speed 802.11g and established 802.11b modes
