The OMAP1710-SDP is a multiple board development system consisting of a processor daughter card (with expansion memory module), a main board, and interface modules. The platform allows additional interface modules to be installed: Modem, Bluetooth, aGPS, and WLAN. These modules are NOT included in the OMAP1710-SDP kit.

The OMAP1710-SDP is designed to be flexible and allows full debug and access to all the OMAP1710 peripherals for software and hardware development. The OMAP1710-SDP kit contains the following items:

  • One OMAP1710-SDP Processor Board (with expansion memory)
  • One OMAP1710-SDP Main Board
  • One User Interface Board (UI Board)
  • One Multiport II Debug Board
  • One 1.3 Megapixel Camera
  • One Power Supply
  • Three AC Cords (US/Europe/UK plugs)
  • One Lithium Ion Smart Battery with integrated Fuel Gauge
  • One USB cable
  • Four Serial Port Adapter cables
  • Two Stylus
OMAP 1710 Main Board Block Diagram

The OMAP1710-SDP Kit contains a CD with tools that facilitates software development. To run these tools or to start developing software using the Code Composer Studio tool, the host machine must meet some minimum requirements. These requirements are given below.

  • 400 MHz or higher Pentium TM-compatible CPU with 128MB (min)
  • 60 MB free hard disk space
  • Host PC with Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP
  • Code Composer Studio v2.31
  • XDS560 PCI-bus JTAG Scan-based emulator or equivalent
