Logic's Zoom Mobile Development Kit, based on TI's OMAP3430 Processor
TI is expanding its open source offerings with a new development kit and Linux board support that will help to lower the barriers for innovation while fostering growth for OMAP-based Smartphones and MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices). As part of the expanded offering, TI and Logic are announcing the OMAP3430-based Zoom Mobile Development Kit (MDK)., This cost effective development platform, which can be used with a variety of operating systems, introduces a new universe of open source opportunities for developers looking to quickly design on the OMAP 3 platform. The feature-rich development board includes:
- TI's OMAP3430 applications processor
- TI's OMAP-Vox™ OMAPV1030 cellular modem
- TI's wireless connectivity technology
- 3-megapixel camera sensor
- 3.7" VGA TFT touchscreen display
- DVI-D display output, S-Video TV output and more
This mobile development kit supports the most current technology available in the mobile market today, an important feature for developers looking to build applications on the latest mobile platforms. The Zoom MDK coupled with TI’s open source board support package enables the creativity of the development community on the OMAP platform
Availability
The OMAP 3 platform is sampling today with volume production expected before the second half of 2008. The Zoom MDK is available in limited quantities today and expected to be available in mass quantities in April 2008.
