Battery Charge Management

Texas Instruments battery charge management integrated circuits (ICs) are a part of TI’s battery management portfolio and are critical for maximizing battery capacity, cycle life and safety. For low-power (one- or two-cell Li-Ion) battery packs that are charged at less than 1A, simple linear topology works best, and a simple 1A.A switch-mode topology is ideally suited for fast charging from USB ports or large battery packs that require charge rates >1A. In addition wide input-voltage range of the IC and input overvoltage protection offer maximum safety, and allow use of low-cost unregulated wall adapters.
