AHCT - Advanced High-Speed CMOS

The Advanced High-Speed CMOS (AHC/AHCT) Logic Family from Texas Instruments provides an effortless and reliable migration path for High-Speed CMOS (HC/HCT) users by providing enhanced performance, low noise, broad product selection, with superior availability at the same market price as HCMOS.

The AHC Logic Family offers the broadest selection of logic choices including gates, octals, single-gates, and Widebus™ devices. The AHC family can operate at a VCC of 3.3 or 5 Volts providing an effortless migration path from HCMOS.

AHCT family advantages include:

  • Low Noise - The same low noise of HCMOS without the overshoot and undershoot typical of higher-drive devices usually necessary to achieve AHC speeds.
  • Low Power - The AHC family has half the static power consumption of HCMOS, 40 µA maximum static current.
  • Speed - With typical propagation delays of 5.2 ns for octals, AHC offers three times the speed of HCMOS.
  • Drive - Output-drive current is ± 8 mA at 5V and ± 4 mA at 3.3V.
  • 5V Input Tolerance at 3.3V - With the input diode to VCC removed, AHC is specified for both 5V and 3.3V operation.
