Overview

The BQ25960H evaluation module (EVM) is a complete charger module for evaluating the highly-integrated BQ25960H switched cap battery charger in WCSP package for 1-cell Li-Ion and Li-polymer batteries in a wide range of smartphones and tablets. The BQ25960HEVM is rated for a maximum input current of 5.75 A and a maximum charge current of 8 A. The BQ25960HEVM presents a complete fast charging design. A typical use case is for the BQ25611D buck charger to perform pre-charge and charge termination, while one or both of the BQ25960H switched cap chargers perform fast charging to achieve the highest possible efficiency.

  • Dual-phase switched cap architecture optimized for highest efficiency
  • I2C communication for system configuration and status reporting
  • Support up to 12.75-V operation input voltage and 40-V absolute maximum with external ACFET or 20 V without external ACFET
  • Dual-input power mux controller for source selection during fast charging and USB On-The Go (OTG) or reverse mode
  • Provide gate drive signal for external OVP GaN FETs or N-FETs
