AMPLIFIERS
DirectPath™ 2-Vrms Line Driver and Headphone Amp with Adjustable Gain: The DRV604 requires only a single 3.3-V supply to generate pop-free headphone performance and a 2-Vrms line driver output (on-chip charge pump generates the negative rail).  The device is ideal for single-supply electronics where size and cost are critical design parameters.
Resources: Data sheet, samples, EVM
  • Can drive 2Vrms into a 5-kΩ load
  • Can generate a clean 40mW into 32-Ω load from a 3.3-V supply
  • Applications: LCD and PDP TV, Blu-Ray players, DVD players, mini/micro combo systems, sound cards
DRV604 Price (1ku): $1.10 – $1.00

Combo Motor Driver with DC/DC Converter: The DRV8808 is a general-purpose, highly robust combination of three high-current motor drivers with up to three DC/DC converters (up to 40-V input) designed to meet the needs of high-volume, cost-sensitive applications. The motor drivers can be configured to use internal sense resistors, while the DC/DC converters can step down from 40V to 1V in one step.
Resources: Data sheet, samples
  • High level of integration reduces size and cost of multiple motor drives and regulators
  • Robust protection circuitry includes over current protection (OCP)
DRV8808 Price (1ku): $7.40 – $6.70

3.0-W Mono Class-D Audio Amplifier with Fast Gain Ramp SmartGain™ AGC and DRC: The TPA2028D1 provides louder and clearer audio while protecting speakers using DRC and AGC compared to other products using just the AGC limiter option. Programmable via digital I²C interface, the DRC/AGC function can be configured to automatically prevent distortion of the audio signal and enhance quiet passages that are normally not heard.
Resources: Data sheet, samples
  • Selectable gain from –28dB to +30 dB in 1-dB steps
  • Output power: 3.0W into 4Ω at 5V; –0.88W into 8Ω at 3.6V
  • Applications: Wireless/cell handsets, PDAs, portable navigation devices, portable DVD players, notebook PCs, portable radio, portable games, educational toys, USB speakers
TPA2028D1 Price (1ku): $0.90 – $0.99
