this Issue: POWER MANAGEMENT 96%-Efficient Buck-Boost DC/DC Converter: The TPS63000 buck-boost converter delivers up to 96% efficiency over an input voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V and output current up to 1.2A. It extends battery life in 1-cell Li-Ion powered devices, all from a space-saving 3 x 3 mm2 QFN package.
4.5-V to 52-V, Non-Synchronous Buck Controller: The TPS40200 is a non-synchronous PWM buck controller with a wide input voltage range (4.5V to 52V) that can convert down to a 0.7-V output. The device also has an on-chip 200-mA PFET driver.
5.5-V to 36-V Input, 3-A Step-Down Converter: The TPS5430 is a wide-range input voltage DC/DC converter with an integrated MOSFET that steps down the voltage as low as 1.23V. The switching frequency is preset to 500kHz and can deliver up to 3-A output current at full temperature.
3-V to 6-V Input, 3-A DC/DC Converter: The TPS54317 is a 3-V to 6-V input DC/DC converter with integrated FETs that steps down the voltage as low as 0.9V. The switching frequency is synchronizable and adjustable to 1.6MHz, and the device can deliver up to 3-A output current at full temperature, up to 6-A peak output current.
Dual-Output, Single-Inductor, Backlight Driver: The TPS6114x series are 1.2-MHz boost converters with two outputs that provide regulated voltage and current output. It is capable of driving one OLED sub-display and up to seven white LEDs for backlighting. Voltage and current can be individually programmed through external resistors.
TPS61141: Price (1 ku) $1.85 Dual-Output, Single-Inductor Backlight Driver: The TPS6115x series are 1.2-MHz boost converters with two regulated current outputs for driving white LEDs. Each output current can be individually programmed through external resistors— ideal for driving display and keypad backlights simultaneously.
TPS61151: Price (1 ku) $1.65 Integrated Photo-Flash Charger and IGBT Driver: The TPS65560 is a complete solution for charging a photo flash capacitor from battery input and features an integrated power switch, IGBT driver, programmable analog peak current and control logic blocks.
High-Efficiency, Phase-Shift, Full-Bridge CCFL Controller: The TPS68000 is a highly integrated power supply controller for CCFL applications. The device features analog dimming and burst dimming. To minimize RMS input current in a multi-controller application, the burst signal can be phase-shifted to the external PWM for distributed dimming.
50-mA, High 24-Vin LDO: The TPS715xx series of LDOs offers high input voltage, low-dropout voltage, low-power operation and miniaturized packaging—ideal for powering battery management ICs.
1-A LDO with Reverse Current Protection: The TPS73701 family of LDOs is easy to use and features low dropout—1mV (typ) at 1A. Adjustable outputs range from 1.2V to 5V and additional fixed outputs are available using an innovative factory EEPROM.
LOW-POWER RF Narrowband, Multi-Channel RF Transmitter: The CC1070 is a single-chip, low-power, low-cost CMOS FSK/GFSK/ASK/00K RF transmitter for narrowband and multi-channel applications.
Low-Cost, Multi-Channel RF Transmitter: The CC1150 multi-channel RF transmitter is the world's lowest total system-cost radio intended for use in the 315, 433, 868 and 915 MHz frequency bands.
Low-Cost 2.4-GHz Transmitter: The CC2550 is a highly integrated multi-channel RF transmitter designed for low-power wireless applications in the 2.4 GHz Industrial Scientific Medical (ISM) band.
DATA CONVERTERS 16-Bit, 2-MSPS SAR ADC with Serial LVDS Interface: The ADS8410 is a single-ended, analog input SAR ADC with a high-speed, serial LVDS interface and extremely low digital noise. The interface supports daisy-chained or cascaded devices and has a mode to select 16-/8-bit data frame.
12-Bit Parallel Input Multiplying DAC: The DAC7821 has µpower operation of 5µa at 5V, a settling time of .2µs, and a reference band of 10MHz.
Low-Power, Stereo Audio Codec with Differential Inputs: The TLV320AIC29 is a high-performance audio codec with 16-/20-/24-/32-bit stereo audio DAC, mono audio ADC with hardware AGC, stereo 16-Ω headphone amplifier and a mono BTL 8-Ω, 400-mW speaker amplifier.
Low-Power Stereo Audio Codec: The TLV320AIC33 is a low-power, stereo audio codec with integrated stereo headphone amplifier. It can be configured with either 4 fully differential or 6 single-ended inputs.
AMPLIFIERS & LINEAR Industrial Analog Current/Voltage Output Driver: The XTR300 is a special analog output driver for industrial control systems designed for sending control signals to machines, valves, heaters and other manufacturing equipment.
INTERFACE 6-Port Gigabit Ethernet Transceiver: The TLK2226 provides for high-speed, full-duplex, point-to-point data transmissions based on the IEEE802.3z 1000-Mbps Ethernet specification. Each channel can operate at 125Mbps and the rate for each channel can be set through MDIO or automatically sensed and set by the device.
Dual Bidirectional I²C Bus and SMBus Repeater: The PCA9515A is a BiCMOS integrated circuit intended for I²C bus and SMBus systems applications. The device contains two identical bidirectional open-drain buffer circuits that enable I²C and similar bus systems to be extended without degradation of system performance.
